Selected work · South London

Projects.

Recent gardens across South London, each responding to its setting, its architecture and the people who use it.

Terracotta walls and terraced planting

Forest Hill · SE23

A complete redesign for this substantial Forest Hill garden. Rendered retaining walls manage the slope, with Millboard composite steps transitioning between levels. Oak raised beds frame the upper lawn, softened with naturalistic perennial planting including Verbena and grasses for wildlife.

Grasses, Verbena and a garden studio

Dulwich Village

A planting scheme designed to peak in midsummer — grasses, Verbena and Rudbeckia chosen to suit the existing garden studio and soften the existing lawn and paving.

A garden for wildlife and daily life

Crystal Palace · SE19

For a newly purchased modern home in Crystal Palace, the garden was rebuilt with a corten wildlife pond, a sedum roof and gravel-based planting to support biodiversity in a compact space.

Brick, cedar and shade

East Dulwich · SE22

Cedar cladding, clay paving and shade planting in a small East Dulwich garden, designed as a quiet outdoor room.

A compact garden for a 70s modern house

Herne Hill · SE24

Engineering bricks, a hidden shed and planed timber fencing in a Herne Hill modern 70’s build garden with lush, foliage-led planting.

Built-in seating and shade planting

Tulse Hill · SW2

Planed softwood fencing, built-in seating and shade planting in a small Tulse Hill garden designed as a quiet outdoor room.

A garden shaped through levels

Brixton

A full renovation of a shady Victorian garden in Brixton. Pale rendered walls and wide stone steps lift the light, with herringbone paving and shade-loving planting — acers, ferns and perennials that don’t miss the sun.

A lighter-touch garden

Camberwell · SE5

Chunky oak raised beds and handmade brick paving create an informal feel in this Camberwell garden makeover. The existing layout was retained and refreshed, with planted pockets woven through the paving for low-growing plants.
